Ghumo LIVE

Where shall we go today?

Real-time seat availability, live tracking & PNR — everything in one beautiful spot

Plan, book and track Indian Railways journeys — all in one place

Ghumo.Live is a free, no-login companion for IRCTC travellers. We talk directly to Indian Railways data so you can check live seat availability across every class and quota, see vacant berths the moment the chart is prepared, predict whether a waitlisted ticket will confirm, and follow any running train on a live map — without juggling four different apps.

🎯 Live seat availability across 700+ trains

Pick a source, destination and date and Ghumo pulls real-time availability from IRCTC for Sleeper, AC 3-tier, AC 2-tier, AC 1st class, Chair Car and Executive — every class your train carries. General, Tatkal and Premium Tatkal quotas land in a single panel, with our Choice badge highlighting the best holistic pick and a Value badge marking the cheapest reliable seat.

📊 Live Chart & vacant berths

Once IRCTC prepares the reservation chart — typically about four hours before departure — Ghumo shows exactly which berths are empty in every coach, plus the segments where each seat is free. Travelling LKO → CNB on a train chartered for LKO → NDLS? You'll see berths nobody booked between Lucknow and Kanpur even if they're occupied later in the route.

🔍 PNR status with confirmation alerts

Enter your 10-digit PNR and we'll surface current booking status — coach number, berth, current waitlist position and the chart-prepared flag. Turn on auto-recheck and your browser quietly polls every 15 minutes while the tab is open, then notifies you the moment your WL moves to RAC or CNF. We never store your IRCTC credentials.

📍 Live running status with GPS

Track any running train with real-time platform numbers, delays, last reported station and estimated arrival at upcoming stops. For supported trains we overlay GPS coordinates so the train icon moves along the route between station crossings — useful when the schedule shows the train standing but it's actually rolling.

🧭 Alternate Routes when direct trains are full

When the obvious LKO → NDLS or HWH → BCT direct trains are waitlisted out, Ghumo searches for practical alternates: nearby boarding stations, shifting your journey one day forward or back, and split journeys via hub stations like BPL, NGP or KNW. Most "no trains available" days have a confirmed seat hiding behind one of these options.

🎯 Waitlist confirmation probability

Our predictor combines per-class cancellation rates, current WL position, time-to-departure and quota type (GNWL / TQWL / RLWL / PQWL) into a probability you can actually act on. GNWL 20 on 3A ten days out reads around 83% confirm; the same position via RLWL on a small remote pool reads under 30%. Numbers, not guesses.

🚆 Coach Position & rake composition

Know exactly where your S6 or B2 will halt before the train pulls in. We render the full rake — engine, GEN, SLR, AC and Sleeper coaches plus pantry car — in order, with the platform position your coach stops at for every halt on the route. Sourced live from Indian Railways NTES and cached for speed.

💸 Train fares with Tatkal surcharge

Side-by-side base fare and Tatkal / Premium Tatkal pricing for every class — including reservation fee, GST and dynamic surge where applicable. Useful for budgeting before the booking window opens at 10:00 IST (AC) or 11:00 IST (non-AC) one day before departure.

Frequently asked questions

How do I look up live info for an Indian train by number?

Open Ghumo.Live, tap the Live Train Info button on the home screen, enter the train number or name, optionally pick boarding/alighting stations, and click Check. You'll see route & stops, 15-day seat availability and platform/fare info — all in one panel.

How to check Indian train seat availability?

Enter your source and destination stations on Ghumo.Live, select a travel date, and click Go. Live seat availability for all classes (SL, 3A, 2A, 1A, CC, EC) and quotas (General, Tatkal, Premium Tatkal) is shown instantly, with our Choice and Value picks highlighted.

How to check PNR status online?

Click the PNR button on Ghumo.Live, enter your 10-digit PNR number, and get real-time booking status including coach, berth and current waitlist position. Toggle Auto-recheck to get a browser notification when your ticket clears to RAC or CNF.

What are Alternate Routes and when should I use them?

If direct trains are full or unavailable, use Alternate Routes to discover options via nearby stations, date shifts and split journeys. This regularly turns a "no seats" search into a confirmed booking via a hub station you wouldn't have thought of.

How to track a train in real time?

Use the Track feature on Ghumo.Live. Enter the train number or name, select your journey date, and see live running status with platform numbers, delays and estimated arrival times — with GPS-backed live position for supported trains.

How to see vacant seats after chart preparation?

Open Live Chart, enter the train number and your boarding station, and view coach-wise vacant berths after the IRCTC chart is prepared (typically about four hours before departure). Tap any coach to see exact vacant berth numbers and the segments where they are free.

Is Ghumo.Live free? Do I need to log in?

Yes, it's completely free, and no account or login is required to use any feature. We don't store your IRCTC credentials — we never ask for them — and bookings happen through the official IRCTC portal via a deep link.

Where does the data come from?

Live seat availability and chart vacancy come from IRCTC. Coach composition comes from Indian Railways NTES. Running status comes from multiple provider APIs with cross-validation so a single bad source can't show you the wrong train.

Indian Railways quick reference

CNF
Confirmed seat — coach and berth assigned.
RAC
Reservation Against Cancellation — two passengers share one full berth as seats; one is upgraded as cancellations free up.
WL / GNWL
General waitlist for tickets booked from the train's originating quota stations. Highest confirmation rate among waitlist types.
RLWL
Remote Location waitlist for intermediate-station bookings. Smaller pool — confirms only against cancellations from the same RL quota.
PQWL
Pooled Quota waitlist shared across short-distance segments. Lower confirmation odds than GNWL.
TQWL
Tatkal waitlist. Rarely confirms after the Tatkal window closes — there is no Tatkal-specific cancellation pool.
Tatkal
Premium quota that opens one day before departure: 10:00 IST for AC classes, 11:00 IST for non-AC.
Premium Tatkal
Surge-priced Tatkal seats released alongside the regular Tatkal window. Dynamic pricing.
SL / 3A / 2A / 1A
Sleeper non-AC / AC 3-tier / AC 2-tier / AC 1st class respectively.

PNR
Passenger Name Record — the 10-digit booking reference printed on every IRCTC ticket.
